Walford House is located on Shrewsbury Road which is a pleasant, tree-lined avenue in the middle of embassy-belt Dublin. Construction for this dwelling began in 2019 with the demolition of the previous property. It was proposed that 45kWh of battery storage to be installed along with 3 x 3kW AC coupled inverters.
The Alpha ESS 3kW was the proposed inverter which is an indoor rated AC coupled all-in-one battery energy storage system suitable for both new and retrofit installations. It  helps to achieve the optimal usage of renewable energy and can control the bi-directional flow of electric power, work under auto/manual & time-of-use (TOU) modes and charge/discharge the battery as per homeowners setting.
Solar PV was installed along with the battery storage which helped capture the excess power being exported to the grid. 15.51kWp of Solar PV was installed on the house and 12.58kwp on the Garage using BIPVco Flextron 140W adhesive solar panels which we’re placed between the ridges of the standing seam roof. This gave the site a total solar PV capacity of 28.09kWp.
