Development started in 2018 for the social housing and with new regulations in place each apartment required a Building Energy Rating (BER) of A2. Solar PV was proposed to reduce the kWh/m² of each apartment to meet this requirement. Microinverters we’re used to provide power for each apartment which reduce area required for standard string inverters.

Solar PV is a triple win for social housing council: it means reduced electricity bills for tenants, reductions in carbon emissions and a reliable income source for 20 years. A triple win that directly combats the triple issue problem that councils are facing.

Installations were completed on more than 150 homes, with system sizes varying between 2 and 4 kWp based on the BER requirements. A total capacity of 145.8 kWp was installed during the project.
